We have at least one friend that, no matter what or how much they eat, they just never seem to gain weight. They always seem to stay slim and trim. In a recent study that was done to determin why some people just seem to be naturally lean, some very interesting results were found. And they had nothing to do with genetics.
1) The study showed that lean people tend to sit down to eat. When we sit down and actually savor each bite of food, 2 hormones are released. These hormones make a pesron feel fuller for a long period of time, which means we ultimately eat less during the day.
2)The study also showed that when we sat down to a table where all the serving plates are passed around, we tend to eat 35% more calories. This means that we should have the food somewhere else than on the table in front of us. Fill your plate before you sit down.
3) Lean people tend to eat higher amounts of protein. The study showed that when a person’s diet had higher protein consumption, while limiting starchy carbs, had the ability to lose weight and keep it off.
4) Lean people seem to move more as well. The research showed that lean people who didn’t even exercise, simply moved more. They played with their kids more, rode their bikes more, and walked more.
There were other interesting results, but these 4 should be incorporated into your own paleo diet to help you lose weight and keep it off.
